About the role

- In this role you will be a key advisor to Stripe's product, engineering and partnerships teams, and will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle financial services, business processes, and technology.

Responsibilities
- Closely collaborate with teams across Stripe (including, engineering, partnerships, privacy and security teams) to deliver pragmatic and actionable legal advice to your clients on a range of issues related to the product development lifecycle - from initial scoping to launch
- Draft, review, and update internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for Stripe's products and service offerings
- Stay up-to-date (with the support of Stripe's many legal subject matter experts) on laws and regulations dealing with consumer financial data access
- Serve as a proactive business partner to your product team and build a trusted advisor relationship offering key legal and strategic business input in evolving Stripe and its product roadmap and strategy
Requirements
- Passion for working with technology and ability to understand complex operational and business models as well as multiple product use cases quickly
- Strong communication and relational skills and ability to work well cross-functionally with a sense of urgency, while remaining highly collaborative and fun
- Expertise in the legal, commercial, and regulatory dynamics of AI and tech services, including a command of global data privacy regimes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
