About the role

  • This includes providing account-facing staff with pertinent market reports, along with presenting content in client business reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts, directs and supports pertinent research, and receives data from external and internal sources, including, but not limited to, market trends, industry developments, competitor trends, brand sentiment, primary research, consumer research (Eye on Payments), etc.; guides the analysis and interpretation of data into meaningful and usable action items.
  • Orchestrates the strategy and development for the monthly Payments Index, including analysis, content focus, report development and value creation; produces quarterly versions to support regional, bank and partner needs for similar content.
  • Maintains direct and ongoing client visibility towards meeting and exceeding Velera goals with respect to overall satisfaction, NPS, sales and service goals, etc.
  • Provides ownership and oversight to the RFP process (including development of ongoing RFP strategy, creation of RFP and due diligence responses and assistance in delivering RFP responses) and assistance in Velera contractual logistics (including contract renewal support and assistance).
  • Oversees and expands relationships with technology-oriented payments and financial technology analysts to leverage new insights to support the Product and Growth organizations.
  • Manage and disseminate timely intelligence primarily, but not limited to quarterly earmings calls related to key competitors and partners.
  • As a Corporate Risk Champion, manages quarterly updates and provides commentary on various internal and market-facing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), from a Marketing lens.
  • Provides necessary support to other Velera business areas, with respect to market research and other industry insights demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years card industry-related experience required.
  • Ten (10) years in banking, credit union or financial technology industry required.
  • Ten (10) years management experience required, with proven track record of exemplary leadership behavior and results.
  • Demonstrated ability to visualize the big picture, and to motivate work teams to establish goals and objectives and achieve superior results
  • Possesses strong leadership and problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate with and influence others across all organizational levels
  • Ability to influence senior level executives to make appropriate business decisions
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, financial institutions and vendors
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel as needed, less than 25%
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with individuals or groups and give presentations up to Senior Executive level utilizing various audio/visual support aids
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated excellent reasoning and analytical skills, with ability to develop detailed presentations

Nice to have

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with sales automation software preferred.

Compensation

  • Leads and manages the entire organizational client feedback process, including the annual sentiment study, transactional surveys to assess client engagement at various points in the relationship and other client feedback demands as needed, including for the product and consulting teams.
  • Leverages the client feedback process, especially the annual sentiment study, to identify strategic areas for business process improvement, and partners with business unit leaders to develop action steps to drive these enhancements.
