About the role
- Under the direct supervision of the Public Safety Coordinator, the Public Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all persons and property on the Guilford College campus.
- This individual serves as a strong advocate for exemplifying a proactive approach to crime prevention and educating faculty, staff, and students on safety.
- Understands, follows and enforces Guilford College policies, rules, and regulations and all campus security, safety and emergency procedures.

Requirements
- Prefer a minimum of two years-related work experience in security, campus security or law enforcement.
- Preference given to those with a college degree in a related field.
- The officer must be able to think and work independent of direct supervision and direction at times, and must be a problem solver.
- Must be diplomatic, polite and possess strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Position requires a high school diploma.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and some holidays.
