About the role
- This position has a schedule of Monday - Friday
- Facilities Services plays a critical role in planning for the $30M/year deferred maintenance investment.
- This position has a schedule of Monday - Friday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM at one work location.
Responsibilities
- Perform tune-ups, grease vehicles, test pollution controls, test electrical equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic systems. etc.
- Maintain and repair snow equipment including but not limited to the following: sanders and rotary and reel lawn mowers.
- Pump gas and maintain distribution records.
- Maintain and safeguard University tools in a professional manner.
- Maintain equipment manuals and repair records.
- Maintain "in house" inventory of parts for emergency/off-hour repairs.

Requirements
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a mechanic
- Must have working knowledge of computers in a Windows environment and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
- Must have good oral and written communications skills with the ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
- Must be able to work professionally and tactfully with fellow employees, faculty, students and staff
- Must be physically able to meet all job requirements
- Solid time management skills including the ability to multi-task, tactfully deal with unforeseen challenges and people and work well in a team setting with other technicians and trades professionals
- Required to work indoors and outdoors in potentially cramped space, during inclement weather year round
- Perform similar or related duties as required.
- Participate in University-wide internal training/meetings as required.
Nice to have
- Associate's Degree or higher in related field
- Trade school graduation, or equivalent and four years of experience as a mechanic
- Excellent driving record for the past 5 years
- Proficiency in the use Maximo CMMS system
- Fleet Rock or other vehicle work order software
- Special Work Schedule
- Special Work Schedule Requirements:
- Flexibility in work schedule required due to campus related emergencies, events occurring nights and weekends and special events such as matriculation and commencement.
