Responsibilities
- Timmons Group is seeking a Land Development Practice Leader to lead, grow, and shape our Land Development presence in the Charleston, SC market.
- This role is ideal for a proven seller-doer and people leader who is energized by building relationships, winning work, and creating a high-performing engineering team.
- Lead the growth and strategic direction of the Land Development practice in the Charleston, SC office
- Develop and expand client relationships; serve as a trusted advisor to public and private sector clients
- Drive business development efforts, including market positioning, pursuit strategy, and proposal leadership
- Maintain ownership of project financial performance, including scope, schedule, staffing, and profitability
- Collaborate with firm leadership to identify growth opportunities and support long-term office expansion
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and designers
- Set clear expectations and support career development for staff at multiple experience levels
- support design efforts using Civil 3D and related modeling tools as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- 15+ years of experience in civil engineering with a strong background in public or private land development
- Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and multi-project resource management
- Experience supervising and mentoring technical staff
- Working knowledge of standard engineering and office software
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or similar licensure preferred
