About the role
- InterAgency is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector to provide field-based environmental compliance oversight for bridge construction projects in Washington, DC.
- This full-time, on-site position will conduct construction site inspections five days per week, with a primary focus on Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) compliance, erosion and sediment control (ESC), and stormwater management (SWM).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field
- 3-7 years of environmental inspections experience
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to reliably travel to project and construction sites throughout the region
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally climb ladders or slopes, and lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to operate tablets, GPS units, cameras, and other field inspection equipment.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on construction sites.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Nice to have
- Experience using GPS units, tablets, and other field inspection equipment
- Virginia Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC) Inspector and Stormwater Management (SWM) Inspector certifications preferred
- EPA Construction Inspection Training Certification preferred
- ISA Certified Arborist credential preferred
- VA ESC/SWM Dual Certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and compliance requirements
