Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning and execution of outside plant break/fix from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, design) and external stakeholders (clients, vendors, contractors) to ensure SLA objectives are met.
- Oversee OSP activities, including fiber placement, splicing coordination, make-ready support, restoration, and maintenance.
- Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflows to measure operational performance, as well as identify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays and minimize further damage related to active outages.
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, project teams, and vendors.
- Manage and maintain customer communications in partnership with the NOC throughout Fiber restoration and maintenance processes.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits throughout the project to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry best practices.
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring their performance aligns with project requirements and timelines.
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes as needed.
Requirements
- Must have working knowledge of structured cabling and routing.
- Must be familiar with email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth.
- Proven experience managing fiber optic and cable maintenance, to include restoration and emergency repairs.
- Must be able to read and understand network diagrams, KMZs, and be able to analyze OTDR test results to troubleshoot faults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and construction standards in OSP projects.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and work within budgets for projects as required.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or a related field, preferred, or additional years of experience may be used in lieu of this preference.
- At least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
Compensation
- $77,100 - $118,600 USD/annually
- The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role.
- It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan.
- Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
