Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and maintain client-facing legal documents, templates, precedents, workflows, and guidance notes.
  • Support the development of Shariah-conscious estate planning solutions that align with US legal requirements and Islamic inheritance principles.
  • Business Building & Cross-Functional Execution:
  • Partner with product, compliance, operations, marketing, technology, and customer experience teams to build a scalable legal service.
  • Help design efficient client journeys, digital workflows, internal policies, and operational processes for iWill and iWaqf.
  • Ability to work in an early-stage, build-from-scratch environment with a high level of ownership.

Requirements

  • Lead the legal work required to establish iWill, helping Wahed build a compliant and scalable US private client legal offering.
  • Juris Doctor degree and active licence to practise law in at least one US state.
  • Strong experience in Wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration, trusts, and private client advisory.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate legal analysis into practical business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients, non-lawyers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with external counsel and advisers where required to ensure compliance across relevant US jurisdictions.
