About the role
- The Retail Pharmacy Inventory Specialist is responsible for coordinating medication and supply purchasing, inventory management, and procurement activities to ensure adequate product availability and efficient pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
- The position works collaboratively with pharmacists, staff, and vendors to maintain uninterrupted medication access and support retail pharmacy operations.
- This role manages wholesaler ordering, inventory integrity, medication shortages, recalls, expirations, and 340B inventory compliance as applicable, while supporting regulatory requirements and cost-effective purchasing practices.
Requirements
- Experience in medication purchasing, wholesaler ordering systems, inventory optimization, shortage mitigation, and maintaining accurate inventory records and audit readiness.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current active Pharmacy Technician license with the California State Board of Pharmacy required.
- National certification (e.g., PTCB) preferred.
