About the role
- Job Description: The EKG technician has a working knowledge and skills of adult (ages 18-65), geriatric (ages 66 and over), neonatal (birth to 12 months), and occasionally adolescent (ages 12-18) electrocardiography.
- The EKG TECH presents a pleasing and helpful manner to the patient, physicians, visitors, members of the department, and all other medical personnel.
- The EKG TECH exhibits courteous behavior when addressing the general public and outside hospital related agencies.

- Performs EKG.
- Utilizes EKG computer system.
- Places Holter monitor.
- Scans Holter tracing.
- Places Event monitor.
- Performs patient assessment.
- Performs quality control.
- Assists in cardiac and pulmonary stress testing.
- Performs equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Provides patient, family, hospital staff, and physician education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
