About the role
- The Maintenance Tech assists with the operation and maintenance of all YTT-managed facilities and.
- Other duties may include general laborer work including hauling goods, painting, basic carpentry, landscaping, and snow removal.
- This position requires compliance with Yakutat Tlingit Tribe's compliance standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Maintenance Tech and Facilities Administrator with preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment and facility components.
- Perform general aesthetic upkeep which can include painting, basic carpentry, landscaping, or snow removal.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry and construction tools
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal and State background check.
Skills
- Knowledge of the structure, functions and operations of Yakutat Tlingit Tribes departments.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of carpentry and construction tools
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing internal and/or external situations.
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions
- Ability, flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
- Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
- Skill in critical thinking, problem solving, organization and time management.
- Skill in written and oral communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under short timeframes and attend to details.
