About the role

  • The Maintenance Tech assists with the operation and maintenance of all YTT-managed facilities and.
  • Other duties may include general laborer work including hauling goods, painting, basic carpentry, landscaping, and snow removal.
  • This position requires compliance with Yakutat Tlingit Tribe's compliance standards, including its Standards of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Maintenance Tech and Facilities Administrator with preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment and facility components.
  • Perform general aesthetic upkeep which can include painting, basic carpentry, landscaping, or snow removal.
  • Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry and construction tools
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal and State background check.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the structure, functions and operations of Yakutat Tlingit Tribes departments.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and construction tools
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing internal and/or external situations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions
  • Ability, flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Skill in critical thinking, problem solving, organization and time management.
  • Skill in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under short timeframes and attend to details.
