About the role
- We are seeking an experienced Credit Counsel to join our legal team as a primary legal advisor to FalconX's credit businesses.
- In this high-impact role, you will provide strategic legal guidance on all aspects of digital asset lending, margin, borrowing, and other credit-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Credit Product Support:
- Draft, review, and negotiate master loan agreements, collateral agreements, security documents, and related transactional documentation.
- Partner with Product and Business Development teams to design and launch new credit products and structures.
- Collaborate with Compliance to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls for credit operations.
- Support the development and implementation of robust risk management frameworks for credit exposures.
- Manage and resolve disputes, litigation, or enforcement actions arising from credit transactions or counterparties.
- Educate business partners on legal and regulatory issues affecting the credit business.
Requirements
- 7 years of relevant legal experience, with significant time spent advising on credit, lending, or structured finance matters for financial institutions, fintechs, or digital asset firms.
- Familiarity with UCC Article 9, bankruptcy/insolvency regimes, and digital asset custody considerations.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex credit and collateral documentation.
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory landscape for digital assets and/or traditional credit products.

- J.D. from an accredited law school
- active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- 4 - 7 years of relevant legal experience, with significant time spent advising on credit, lending, or structured finance matters for financial institutions, fintechs, or digital asset firms.
- Deep understanding of secured lending, margin, and collateral management practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- The base pay for this role is expected to be between $162,000 - $219,000 in the New York City Area. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as location, skillset, experience, qualifications and the level at which the candidate is hired.
