About the role

  • This role serves as a trusted advisor to elected officials and executive leadership, navigating capital governance, funding approval pathways, and procurement strategy to structure and close large-scale programs.
  • The anticipated base salary range for this role is $121,000 - $176,000 (presented in good faith).
  • Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities for turnkey energy solutions including energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed generation, microgrids, and performance contracting.
  • Build and maintain advisory relationships with County Judges, Commissioners Courts, City Managers, CFOs, and executive stakeholders across public sector clients.
  • Lead proposal strategy and development, coordinating internally with engineering, finance, and development teams.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations and written proposals.
  • Serve as primary customer contact during the sales process and support transition to project execution teams.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking within CRM systems.
  • Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Development Manager who will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing complex energy efficiency, renewable energy, and advanced technology solutions across public sector markets.
  • This position owns the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal development, contract negotiation, and successful transition to project delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience influencing and leading sales and project development teams in Arizona to meet company and business goal.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated sales track record, including executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value.
  • Superior financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required.
  • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
  • Travel required.
