About the role
- The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely and efficiently operate a variety of construction equipment to support site preparation, excavation, grading, underground utilities, and other earthwork activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and material handling.
- Maintain productivity while ensuring work is completed safely and accurately.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of excavation safety, utility installation, and grading practices.
- Candidates must have experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects and be committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
- What We're Looking For:
- Education:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
- A valid Class A or B license from the State of Iowa
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale projects such as data centers, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure
- Ability to make complex cuts not to waste material, and figure out complex forming systems
- Training and complying with all safety rules, and performing without constant supervision
