About the role
- This team member is also expected to continuously evaluate equipment condition and seek opportunities for improving repair times and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot faulty equipment to root cause, perform quality repairs as needed and escalate concerns to necessary departments.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment, while documenting work in Maintenance Management System.
- Mentor and develop Maintenance I and II team members going through the Gentex-sponsored apprenticeship program.
- Fostering teamwork: Building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Customer focus: Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Ability to ascend ladders and traverse multiple building floors and areas.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or Journeyman certification.
- 5-10 years' experience in manufacturing maintenance.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, vacuum pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about for 8 hours.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Experience working with CAD software.
- Experience with troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller programs.

- Demonstrating depth of knowledge and skill in a technical area.
