Responsibilities

  • Create a ministry of retail statement that communicates goals and practices.
  • Build relationships that reflect the character of God with guests, staff, vendors and neighbors to foster healthy community.
  • Maintain healthy communication while working with other departments at camp.
  • Network with other retail managers and department lead to learn and share best practices
  • Develop the retail centers [Store, Snack Bar, Coffee Shop] to serve guests' requests and sustainable business practices.
  • Maintain professional written and verbal communication with staff, guests, volunteers, staff candidates, and vendors.
  • Maintain ServSafe and First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Develop systems and train staff to participate in comprehensive stewardship.
  • Create and manage the financial budget for retail department
  • Maintain accurate financial reports [deposits, Concur, POS reports]

Requirements

  • and (b) subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
  • (i) be ready, willing and able to fulfill such ministry functions as may be required by the organization
  • Lead department staff in the execution of daily responsibilities with attention to the standards and metrics required for excellent camp operations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using Point of Sale [Square], Office, Outlook and other software applications
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn and use all Young Life internal systems
  • Experience training and leading teams
  • Demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communication with guests, vendors, and staff
  • Demonstrate understanding of Young Life ministry, strategy and mission

Nice to have

  • College degree or equivalent preferred
  • Previous business or retail experience preferred

Compensation

  • Engage in annual personnel evaluations for all retail staff
  • Complete an annual cost analysis for concessions and coffee areas.
  • With direction from supervisor, develop an annual personal spiritual growth plan.
