About the role
- This position can be based in any of BGC's North American offices.
- Demonstrated competency and experience working in tailings management.
- Is registered as a Professional Engineer in North America.
Responsibilities
- BGC is seeking a North America based Geotechnical or Geological Engineer with experience in the field of tailings dam design and construction.
- The successful candidate would function as a tailings storage facility Engineer of Record (EoR) and lead an existing multi-disciplinary team to design and support the construction and operation of a tailings storage facility (TSF).
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in tailings management, dam design, or mining geotechnique.
- Experienced in all phases of tailings projects: site investigation, design, construction, operations, and closure.
- BGC requires that employees have a valid driver's license, and that employees can drive a field pickup truck.

- The policy states that an employee may be required to take a drug and alcohol test prior to engaging in field work.

- BGC requires that you have a current passport for this position.
- Maintain a valid passport and be willing to travel as required for project work and networking.

Compensation
- The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000-$250,000 CAD per annum, however base pay will be commensurate with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

- Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.
- Current knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) and other relevant guidelines and standards.
