Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud networking and distributed systems at SaaS or similar scale, with expertise in architecting and debugging across the stack.
Proficiency in Go (or similar languages) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), with a track record of building automation and platform tooling.

Nice to have

Experience designing self-service network abstractions (DNS provisioning, ingress configuration, network policy tooling) that empower internal teams.
Experience with CDN, edge protection (cache strategy, WAF, origin shielding), VPNs, and wide-area connectivity in cloud environments.
Familiarity with tools like Envoy, Linkerd, Cloudfront, or Cloudflare.
Open source contributions and experience applying compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) to networking and policy as code.

Compensation

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $150,000 USD and $210,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time
