About the role
- The Senior Manager, External Communications will be responsible for executing external communications and storytelling that shapes how the brand shows up across media, culture, and the broader wellness conversation.
- The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and strategic communicator with experience translating brand moments, partnerships, campaigns, company initiatives and business priorities into compelling narratives that resonate with consumers and media alike.
- Translate brand strategy, campaigns, and partnerships into impactful consumer storytelling opportunities
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day consumer-facing communications and storytelling across media and public channels
- Develop and amplify the brand narrative across consumer press, lifestyle outlets, emerging media and cultural platforms
- Support and execute consumer PR initiatives that drive awareness and engagement
- Manage consumer media outreach, story development, and press opportunities
- Develop messaging that connects the brand to consumers in a clear, compelling, and culturally relevant way
- Partner closely with brand, marketing, partnerships, and talent teams to support campaigns and launches

Requirements
- 8+ years experience in public relations, external and consumer communications, or brand storytelling
- Experience partnering closely with marketing, brand, partnerships, and social teams
- Strong background in consumer PR, lifestyle media, and brand communications
- Proven ability to generate impactful media coverage and culturally relevant storytelling opportunities
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strategic thinker combined with hands-on execution and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments
Skills
- Exceptional verbal, writing, messaging, and storytelling skills
Compensation
- This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and annual bonus program.
- $130,000 - $145,000 USD
- WeightWatchers complies with all applicable Rhode Island Workers' Compensation laws (Chapters 29-38 of the R.I. General Laws).
- Eligible employees are covered by worker's compensation insurance for work-related injuries or illness.
