About the role
- We are seeking a dynamic Insights professional to join our team as a Manager of Consumer Insights.
- The Manager of Consumer Insights will join the Welch's Brand & Innovation team on the journey to refresh and revitalize a 150-year old Brand with a strong equity and purpose.
- We need your help to take the next step in making Welch's a modern and relevant brand for today's consumer.
Responsibilities
- Lead insights projects with key stakeholders and external partners. Ask clarifying questions to ensure project objectives are on-strategy and driving the needs of the overall organization.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and visibility within the Brand & Innovation team and other key cross-functional partners with a POV on research results and implications.
- Focus will be on innovation and identifying opportunities/threats for our core business across two current categories. Additionally, identify and develop new opportunities with our Transformational Innovation and Licensing teams.
- Work closely with Brand and R&D to identify new product opportunities and validate/recommend optimization for new product prototypes and reformulations.
- Own our suite of primary research platform partners (qualitative and quantitative). Manage funding, relationships, renewals and termination of current partners and identify new partners where needed.
- Leverage a custom AI platform to optimize our research library, conduct analyses and identify other opportunities to leverage the tool.
- Modernize and manage the idea and product testing databases by transferring them to Smartsheet (or similar program). Ensure that all historical and new tests are organized, searchable, and regularly updated.
- This entails working very collaboratively to identify key business objectives, design and execute research solutions and socialize results and recommendations across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ year of related Consumer Insights experience
- Ability to synthesize data from different sources such as primary, secondary and syndicated and turn into insights
- Knowledge in areas such as quantitative and qualitative techniques, new product development, measuring success in market and how to track progress.
- Strong ability to simply and clearly communicate about insights with passion, understanding and candor.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's Degree in related fields such as psychology, marketing, anthropology, statistics and an MBA preferred.
- Food and Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience is a plus

- Give input into the consumer learning plan to support the Brand & Innovation team.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate "consumer learning" into actionable recommendations for business growth.
