About the role

Florida Tech is seeking a dedicated and student-centric Advisor to join our Office of Student Advising.
In this role, you will serve as a primary guide for undergraduate students majoring within the College of Aeronautics-from their first day on campus to graduation.
As an Academic Advisor, you aren't just a course scheduler; you are a collaborator, a problem-solver, and a champion for student success.

Assist students in identifying long-term goals and career plans, ensuring their academic path supports their future professional life.
Collaborate with the Registrar's office and academic departments to resolve registration issues and verify graduation eligibility.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all student records in compliance with FERPA regulations.

Guide students through course and flight block registration in alignment with their major's degree plan and the nuances of academic core and departmental requirements.
Utilize advising technology and degree audit software to monitor student progress and maintain precise records.
Education: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Aviation Management, or a related field preferred).

Specific background knowledge in Aviation, Aeronautics, or Flight Training is highly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in advising technology and data management systems.
A deep commitment to student success and the ability to "cheer students on" through their academic journey.
Knowledge of university policy and procedures is a plus.
Knowledge of FAA regulations is preferred.
