About the role

  • The Athletic department is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach.
  • The coach will contribute to fostering a positive team culture that reflects the university's mission and athletic standards.
  • This position works under the direction of the Head Men's Soccer Coach and helps uphold the mission and values of the university and athletic department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong assistant leadership and build meaningful relationships with student-athletes through daily communication, accountability, mentorship, and support of team culture standards.
  • Lead and assist with on-field training sessions and matchday responsibilities, including session organization, coaching instruction, video analysis, and implementation of the program's game model.
  • Assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes to UMSV through identification, evaluation, communication, campus visits, and consistent relationship-building with recruits and families.
  • Support the academic development and overall well-being of student-athletes through study hall oversight, academic check-ins, and mentorship aligned with institutional expectations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and high energy, professionalism, and strong relationship-building abilities with student-athletes and staff.

Nice to have

  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation strongly preferred
