Responsibilities

  • Aims Community College partners with over 70 high schools across Northern Colorado, providing students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school.

Requirements

  • This will require at least two (2) years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in Diesel Vehicle Service.
  • ASE G1-Certification must be obtained prior to first day of classes.
  • Must have the knowledge of, and experience with, personal computers as well as using systems relating to automotive service repair and automotive service instruction.
  • Must be able to build test banks, operate and maintain automotive service indust
  • Submits course syllabi and other required documents on time.

Nice to have

  • Associate's Degree in related field such as Diesel Power Mechanics OR the ability to obtain this degree within two-and-a-half-years (2.5) of beginning employment: plus,
  • Current industry license/certification plus 6,000 hours (3 years) of relevant industry experience.

Skills

  • Acquire and/or maintain certification.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and/or training appropriate to one's field.
  • Complete coursework related to one's teaching assignment.
  • Create teaching methodology and instructional design.
  • Other activities that contribute to keeping current in the content field.
  • Helping the College meet the goals and objectives of its mission and strategic plan.
  • Provide competent advising to students seeking AAS, AS, and/or AA Degrees and program certificates.
  • Fulfill College service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or to community service groups.
  • Serve on department, division, and institutional committees.
  • Assist in program and curriculum review, revision, and the development and assessment of learning.
  • Maintain classrooms and/or labs.

Compensation

  • Faculty Personal Leave (16 hours per year) & Sick (minimum accrual of 12 days)

  • This position is eligible for an additional annual stipend ranging from $4,373.40 - $6,093.37 depending on the applicant's education and/or years of applicable work experience.
  • This stipend is subject to annual renewal and is not a part of the base salary.
  • These experiences range from Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate pathways to full associate degree programs.
  • This specific faculty position is a collaboration between Aims Community College and Weld RE-4 School District, supporting the launch of a newly established Career and Technical Education Center.
