About the role
- Assists with patient phone calls, prescription refills, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and records information in patients' charts.
- Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physician's instructions to patients.

Requirements
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- May be required to collect blood samples, tissue or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.
- Provides support to team members and performs other duties as required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduated from a Medical Assistant program, accredited by the Commission on accreditation of Allied Health Education Program preferred.
- Test and pass the National Certification exam (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP) to be certified as Medical Assistant required.
Nice to have
- 1-2 years' experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
