About the role
- PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for overseeing breeder farms and flocks as a Company representative to contracted growers.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between Company and contract growers providing expert technical advice to growers on company expectations (i.e. building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, industry best practices, policies, procedures, bio security, etc.)
- Maintain feed tank inventories ordering feed and coordinating deliveries to ensure proper feed is delivered to growers in a timely manner
- Follow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero accident culture
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
- May be required to enter confined space
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- occasionally required to lift overhead
- Must have the ability to work in high altitudes and elevated areas
Nice to have
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science or related field preferred
Skills
- Minimum two (2) years' live poultry experience in a similar environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements surrounding animal welfare and food production
- Strong computer (i.e. Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.) and math skills
- Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate in English
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
