About the role
- Administer speech therapy treatments as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability.
- Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
- Family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety and quality through maintenance of a safe environment, providing assistance to patients and visitors and support of safe practices.
- Performs an appropriate assessment on patients as related to therapy requested with reassessment and documentation on progress toward goals per policy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Graduate of an accredited school of Speech Therapy or graduate of accredited college or University Required
- Speech Language Pathologist Upon Hire Required
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services within 90 Days Required
- Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services within 90 Days Required
- American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Iowa Department of Human Services within 90 Days Required

- 1-3 years health care experience Preferred
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
