About the role

They participate with other school staff on various student assistant team meetings.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall evaluate individual student abilities and achievement through various psychological instruments, upon referral from the Supervisor or Director.
Shall diagnose, where possible, interferences to learning.

Shall prepare and maintain accurate statistical data relative to job responsibilities and student testing information.
When requested, shall maintain a service schedule and submit it to the administration.
They are a lead person in efforts relative to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Ability to lift and carry testing equipment.
Ability to work successfully with students, parents, staff, community and advocacy groups.
Ability to work well with others as a team member in a work team environment.
Master's degree.

Shall participate in Individual Education Plan
Shall write reports on the results of evaluations and propose eligibility for Special Education recommendations.
Shall perform duties assigned by the Director of Special Education as deemed necessary and appropriate which are in accordance with contractual rules and legal guidelines.
Other duties as requested by Supervisor of Special Education and/or Director of Special Education.
The School Psychologist functions as part of the various evaluation team to determine root causes of students who show difficulties with learning and or behavior.
In addition to the above, they evaluate individual students using various psychological instruments and assist in developing sound educational plans.
