About the role

  • They participate with other school staff on various student assistant team meetings.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall evaluate individual student abilities and achievement through various psychological instruments, upon referral from the Supervisor or Director.
  • Shall diagnose, where possible, interferences to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Shall prepare and maintain accurate statistical data relative to job responsibilities and student testing information.
  • When requested, shall maintain a service schedule and submit it to the administration.
  • They are a lead person in efforts relative to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry testing equipment.
  • Ability to work successfully with students, parents, staff, community and advocacy groups.
  • Ability to work well with others as a team member in a work team environment.
  • Master's degree.

Compensation

  • $249k-$872k

Benefits

  • Shall participate in Individual Education Plan
  • Shall write reports on the results of evaluations and propose eligibility for Special Education recommendations.
  • Shall perform duties assigned by the Director of Special Education as deemed necessary and appropriate which are in accordance with contractual rules and legal guidelines.
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor of Special Education and/or Director of Special Education.
  • The School Psychologist functions as part of the various evaluation team to determine root causes of students who show difficulties with learning and or behavior.
  • In addition to the above, they evaluate individual students using various psychological instruments and assist in developing sound educational plans.
