About the role
- The Associate Teacher assists the teachers and/or Center Director and assumes responsibility for general supervision, development and education of children at our Toyon Center which provides a unique Dual Language Immersion EHS program with an emphasis on Environmental Education programming. EHS is a federally funded school readiness and family support program for low-income and special needs children that promotes parents/guardians as the primary educator of the child.

Responsibilities
- In this Dual Language Immersion center you will be a language model as assigned by program design.
- Develops and assists in planning, preparing and implementing lesson plans to execute current program goals in both indoor and outdoor environment curriculum.
- Performs primary caregiving responsibilities.
- Opportunities to connect with and learn from colleagues and partners around the world
Requirements
- Attends required classroom, center, and organization meetings.
Nice to have
- Minimum Associate Teacher Permit or higher credential
- 1 year prior experience in working with young children is preferred
- Bi-Literate in Spanish (required) and/or Mandarin, Vietnamese (preferred)
- Immunization records that comply with SenateBill 792 (immunity for measles, pertussis, and influenza)
- Required CPR/First Aid Training Certification
- Required to be a mandated abuse reporter
- Additional Requirements
- Must pass background fingerprint clearance
