About the role

The Ophthalmology physician is assigned to the Atlanta VA Eye Clinics.
She/he provides comprehensive eye care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of Ophthalmology.
The scope of these activities covers screening and follow up eye care rendered by the Atlanta VA Eye Clinics.

The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent basis.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.

The Ophthalmologist must be an ASOPRS-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon with a research history in Thyroid Eye Disease.
She/he must also be skilled in advance surgical treatment of Thyroid Eye Disease and other advanced Orbital Disease.
She/he must actively participate in patient care through hospital rounds, morning reports, conferences, consultations, participation in ambulatory care, assigned call duty, and other similar activities.
Preferred Experience: The Ophthalmologist must be an ASOPRS-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon with a research history in Thyroid Eye Disease.

Depending on the essential duties of a specific position, usable vision, color vision, hearing or speech may be required.
