About the role
- The Circuits team sits at the interface of hardware development, manufacturing, and the system architecture to design the first fault-tolerant quantum computer.
- We are looking for a circuit design engineer to join the team.
- PIC designs particularly relevant to this role are complex photonic switch networks.
Responsibilities
- Design software functionality to meet requirements for parts of our in-house software design flow.
- Develop methodologies for evaluating implementation concepts and determining their feasibility.
- Extract predictive models, perform analysis, and run design checks on circuits.
- Ability to work across domains and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a new area designing first-of-their-kind photonic circuits.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Professional experience programming and releasing production code for web applications, Javascript/Typescript, and modern front-end tools e.g. React, Svelte, and/or Vue.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-speed electro-optic phase shifters.
- Familiarity with photonic circuit concepts and GDS layout.
- Familiarity with git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of quantum computing/quantum mechanics.
Skills
- Background in analogue and/or digital electrical circuit design.
Compensation
- $130,000 - $145,000 USD
- Bay Area Pay Range
- $145,000 - $165,000 USD
- The ranges below reflect the target ranges for a new hire base salary.
- U.S. Base Pay Range
