Responsibilities
- Provide schematic design information including conceptual land development plans and project requirements.
- Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documents.
- Coordinate project requirements with other design professionals and other design disciplines.
- Document existing conditions and perform some troubleshooting.
- Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
- Edit word-processing documents and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring.
- The Senior Civil Designer works with a Project Manager or Principal to develop design concepts which are developed and incorporated in final plan sets or deliverables.
- The Senior Civil Designer can assume project design lead responsibilities under the direction of a licensed engineer.
- They may direct staff designers and engineers to accomplish designs.
- They may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design.
Requirements
- Experience and proficiency in detail design work.
- Must be proficient in the use of computer for design and understand CAD operations.
- Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Each person is expected to help in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
- Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.
Skills
- Ability to keep and handle confidential documents.
- Experience with Bluebeam.
- Good communication skills and personable demeanor.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Demonstrate a sense of pride and adhere to high standards and quality in the project.
- Multi-task between projects and be able to work well under pressure.
- AutoCAD & Civil3D Civil Engineering Understanding of Land
- Surveying & Mapping CAD Standards & Instruction Civil3D training PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Potential to be around construction equipment when visiting job sites, be able to handle loud noises.
- Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
- Routine use of standard office equipment.
