Responsibilities

  • Provide schematic design information including conceptual land development plans and project requirements.
  • Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documents.
  • Coordinate project requirements with other design professionals and other design disciplines.
  • Document existing conditions and perform some troubleshooting.
  • Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
  • Edit word-processing documents and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring.
  • The Senior Civil Designer works with a Project Manager or Principal to develop design concepts which are developed and incorporated in final plan sets or deliverables.
  • The Senior Civil Designer can assume project design lead responsibilities under the direction of a licensed engineer.
  • They may direct staff designers and engineers to accomplish designs.
  • They may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design.

Requirements

  • Experience and proficiency in detail design work.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer for design and understand CAD operations.
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Each person is expected to help in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
  • Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.

Skills

  • Ability to keep and handle confidential documents.
  • Experience with Bluebeam.
  • Good communication skills and personable demeanor.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Demonstrate a sense of pride and adhere to high standards and quality in the project.
  • Multi-task between projects and be able to work well under pressure.
  • AutoCAD & Civil3D Civil Engineering Understanding of Land
  • Surveying & Mapping CAD Standards & Instruction Civil3D training PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Potential to be around construction equipment when visiting job sites, be able to handle loud noises.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment.
