About the role

  • The State Filing Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding Assurant's regulatory posture by overseeing state insurance filing activities. This position serves as a key link between regulatory requirements and business execution, ensuring products remain compliant, market‑ready, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the filing to support timely product approvals and minimize regulatory and operational risk.
  • Maintain governance over filing documentation, approvals, and regulatory records to support audit readiness and transparency.

Requirements

  • Proficiency or ability to quickly develop proficiency with consumer and home warranty service contract regulation and product development

Nice to have

  • Provide regulatory oversight by reviewing state insurance requirements and assessing their impact on existing products.
  • Draft, review and revise policy forms to ensure compliance with state specific filing and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with State Insurance Departments, proactively addressing questions, objections, and conditions to facilitate approvals.
  • Ensure regulatory decisions, approvals, and exemptions are well documented, defensible, and auditable.
  • Provide direction and oversight for the preparation and submission of state compliance filings, ensuring consistency, quality, and regulatory alignment.
  • Evaluate filing obligations and determine when exemptions apply, preparing documented assessments and recommendations for management approval.
  • Contribute to regulatory risk mitigation efforts by supporting market conduct exams, litigation discovery, audits, and ad‑hoc regulatory inquiries.
  • Ensure state‑driven deadlines and regulatory commitments are met to avoid compliance gaps or enforcement exposure.

  • Ensure Assurant products and filings are aligned with applicable regulatory frameworks and corporate compliance standards.

Compensation

  • Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
  • $56,200.00 - $94,100.00
