About the role

  • Join the Bureau of Land Management as a Seasonal Park Ranger supporting recreation and conservation efforts across Northern California's public lands.
  • These are not Law Enforcement positions.
  • Positions are located within the BLM Northern California District in the following locations: Susanville, CA This announcement has an applicant max of 100.

Responsibilities

  • You will engage with visitors, support recreation programs, promote safety and resource protection.

Requirements

  • Experience may have been in technical, administrative, or scientific work, fish and wildlife management, recreation management, law enforcement, or other park-related work.
  • OR Successful completion of a 4 year course of study above high school leading to a bachelors degree with at least 24 semester hours related to the position.
  • This experience must be comparable in scope, complexity, and responsibility to the work performed at the next lower grade level.
  • Experience may have been gained in the Federal service, private sector, military, or volunteer work, Peace Corps, Ameri Corps, or other work, and must be clearly documented in your resume.

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work.
  • This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) that must be met.

Skills

  • Outdoor work is completed in all types of weather conditions, terrain, and elevations.
  • Work may take place in a remote environment and may require primitive camping and living skills.
  • Indoor duties are performed in a normal office setting.
