Responsibilities

  • Very strong attention to detail, ability to manage process, and follow through on tasks, with significant organizational, project and program management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including comfort interacting with internal management and external stakeholders, and an ability to share knowledge and support the growth of colleagues
  • Develop and monitor performance benchmarks for capital investments and the strategic execution of capital investment strategies
  • Identify and interpret changes in financial regulations, particularly bank capital and liquidity that have impacts on our business and may drive changes to Freddie Mac's ERCF
  • Serve as the business SME for detailed project plans that typically involve building risk measurement and reporting infrastructure for capital management
  • Help guide the work of junior team members, providing direction and feedback to support quality outputs and their continued development

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related professional experience, with demonstrated depth of understanding of MBS markets and familiarity with bank hedge accounting strategies
  • Strong knowledge of bank and/or non-bank financial capital and liquidity rules
  • Experience analyzing complex financial data and using risk management and financial analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel)
  • Proactive and ability to think creatively and execute in a manner that respects and meets appropriate internal controls
  • Employees exercise this responsibility by executing against policies and procedures and adhering to privacy & security obligations as required via training programs.
  • Quantitative Bachelor's Degree preferred in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; Master's Degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) a plus
  • 2-5 years of management and leadership experience (5+ years of business management and/or leadership experience in capital markets related transactions preferred, including experience developing or mentoring junior professionals)

Nice to have

  • Quantitative Bachelor's Degree preferred in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
  • Master's Degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) a plus

Compensation

  • This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $136,000 - $204,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
