About the role
- The Food Service Worker - Hillcrest provides table service to residents by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that residents have a pleasant dining experience.
- This role assists with the day to day dietary needs of the residents related to their personalized care plan.
- Assists residents with care in transfers and attendance at meals, activities and appointments.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a clean, sanitized and attractive work area, small wares storage area, dining room.
- Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area, washing/preparing silverware and set up, stocks and maintains resident coffee area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Stocks and maintains par levels of food and non-food items.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times
- Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality
- Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment
Requirements
- ServSafe required within 2 months of hire
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: 1 year of caregiver or aide in a ALF, LTC, SNF or hospital experience
Skills
- Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
- Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed.
- Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings.
- Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.
- Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
