About the role

  • GEICO is seeking an Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in Pennsylvania courts and other first party insurance defense.
  • The position is with GEICO Staff Counsel located in Philadelphia or surrounding area.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6+ years of experience in litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
  • Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar REQUIRED
  • Must be able to travel as required, including but not limited, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences
  • Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

Nice to have

  • Civil litigation experience
  • Insurance defense-related litigation experience
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner in person, via telephone and written correspondence/email

Compensation

  • $112,750.00 - $175,275.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline.
  • Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
