About the role
- Work across different bus protocols and get familiar with the electrical architecture of multiple space vehicle subsystems.
Responsibilities
- Own detailed board design work, including new digital and analog designs supporting upcoming missions (including active work on new power supply designs, such as for the TASA mission).
- Be a technical face for electrical requirements, working cross-functionally with mechanical, systems, and program teams to deliver hardware that meets mission needs.
- Flex into electrical systems support when needed - helping with harness schematics, ICDs, or system-level electrical questions alongside your board design work.
- Collaborate closely with our existing hardware and electrical systems engineers to help cover a growing pipeline of new board designs kicked off across the team.
- As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be a core hardware design resource on a team that's ramping up multiple new board design efforts. You'll:

Company info
- Loft: Space Made Simple.
- Founded in 2017, Loft provides governments, companies, and research institutions with a fast, reliable, and simple way to deploy missions in orbit.
- We integrate, launch, and operate spacecraft, offering end-to-end missions as a service across Earth observation, IoT connectivity, on-orbit AI, national security missions, and more. Leveraging our existing space infrastructure and an extensive inventory of satellite buses, Loft is reducing years-long integration and launch timelines to months. With more than 30 missions flown, Loft's flight heritage and proven technologies enable customers to focus on their mission objectives.
- With a growing fleet on track to reach 30 satellites by 2027, we are scaling up quickly across our offices in San Francisco, CA | Golden, CO | and Toulouse, France to meet accelerating demand for space infrastructure.

- Loft Orbital is redefining how satellites get built and deployed, and our electrical engineering team is at the heart of that mission.
- We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who lives and breathes hardware design, someone who wants to sit down and knock out a board, dig into bus protocols, and help shape the next generation of space vehicle subsystems.
- This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who wants to do hardware design full-time, but is also comfortable wearing an electrical systems hat when the mission calls for it.
- At Loft, we value respectful debate and people who aren't afraid to challenge assumptions.
