About the role
- David Zwirner LA seeks a full-time Sales Assistant to work alongside one of our Directors.
- The ideal candidate will have a BA in Art History and/or Arts Administration or Business Administration and at least two years of related experience or the equivalent.
- This position will involve significant contact with artists and long-time clients and other art industry professionals therefore discretion and poise are essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Director's secondary market consignments, prepare consignment and contract agreements
- liaise with clients on cataloging and research materials, and create presentations for client offers and significant works.
- Provide sales support as needed (viewings, offers, previews).
- Create and manage client lists for exhibition previews/dinners, and support the Director during openings
- Organize the Director's schedule, plan, and book travel, keep track of meetings, and create expense reports.
- 2-3 years in an assistant or administrative support role at a gallery.
- Manage the Director's secondary market consignments, prepare consignment and contract agreements; liaise with clients on cataloging and research materials, and create presentations for client offers and significant works.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate and interested in the arts/larger creative arena or is eager to learn.
- Previous experience and a background within the commercial art world is not required.
- Superior writing skills, the ability to manage time and meet deadlines, and a thorough working knowledge of contemporary art are required.
Compensation
- Sales Assistant to Director | $60k annual salary, paid hourly; overtime eligible.
