About the role
- The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities within a steel fabrication environment.
- This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions
- Maintain welding machines, forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs
Requirements
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with MS Office programs
- Experience with COAST maintenance software
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, heat, and industrial environments
Nice to have
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
- Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of machinery and equipment
- High school diploma or GED required
- technical training or trade school preferred
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding and metal fabrication skills strongly preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Skills
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, controls)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
