About the role

  • The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities within a steel fabrication environment.
  • This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions
  • Maintain welding machines, forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs

Requirements

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with MS Office programs
  • Experience with COAST maintenance software
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, heat, and industrial environments

Nice to have

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues
  • Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of machinery and equipment
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • technical training or trade school preferred
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Welding and metal fabrication skills strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Skills

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, controls)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
