About the role
- Disseminate findings through scientific publications, abstracts and presentations at regional, national, and international conferences.
Responsibilities
- Read the literature, develop new ideas, and assimilate information into his/her project design/interpretation.
- Design and execute experiments and contribute to manuscripts with increasingly independent experiments under PI mentorship.
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot in vitro, in vivo, and multiomics experiments that probe islet cell transcriptional networks.
- Drive data acquisition and analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, functional assays) and co-author publications.
- Contribute to ongoing NIH-funded projects and develop complementary, independent lines of inquiry - this will include competing for independent fellowship funding, as opportunities arise.
Requirements
- This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have advanced knowledge, analytical skills and professional competencies necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Work Experience: Experience with in vivo modeling, epigenetics, molecular biology, and/or protein biochemistry techniques.

Nice to have
- Work Experience:
- Experience in pancreatic biology, developmental biology, gene regulation, or a related field.
- Experience in securing research funding (e.g., fellowships, grants).
- Experience in molecular and cellular techniques (western blotting, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, co-immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation, etc.).
- Animal handling and in vivo phenotyping experience.

Compensation
- $63,480.00 - $90,000.00 Minimum
- $63,480.00 Midpoint
- $76,739.00 Maximum
- Compensation Statement:
- The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking.
- A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding.
