About the role
- The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) serves as the public, environmental, and occupational health laboratory for the State of Wisconsin.
- WSLH is a public sector entity, under the umbrella of the University of Wisconsin.
- This position works under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Information Systems (OIS).
Responsibilities
- May perform manager functions
- Participate in development efforts to support the organization and assist the development
- May develop and audit the unit budget and/or financials
- Develops operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives
- May perform manager functions - 10%
- Participate in development efforts to support the organization and assist the development - 20%
- May develop and audit the unit budget and/or financials - 5%
Requirements
- 10 years of on-the-job programming experience.
- Working knowledge and experience with Java or similar development languages and IDE's
- Working knowledge and experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases and advanced SQL skillset, including database design
- Ability to continuously sit or stand at a computer terminal using a keyboard and mouse, viewing computer monitor(s) for extended periods up to 8 hours with breaks
Nice to have
- 5 years of staff supervision.
- Working knowledge and experience with DevOps, i.e. the usage/implementation of tools and methods for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and automated testing
- Experience managing projects tasks, estimating timelines, and monitoring task progress
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, preferred.
Compensation
- Minimum Salary $117, 500/year.
- Salary to be determined upon hire.
