About the role

  • Is responsible for the operation and maintenance of very sophisticated equipment utilized in the water distribution systems, which are necessary to operate the numerous irrigation systems and fountains located on City-owned property.
  • Installs back-flows and controllers; operates locators, toners, trenchers, and Kubota tractors.

Responsibilities

  • Performs highly skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of large, complex irrigation systems and their related components.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and three (3) years experience working in the irrigation or plumbing field required
  • If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Nice to have

  • or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Valid Florida Class B CDL preferred.

Compensation

  • $21.10-$26.90
