About the role

  • Conduct and coordinate worker training in areas governed by USEPA, state EPA, and other government agencies where applicable.
  • Investigate, report, and review findings from all compliance near-miss reports, facility inspections, environmental testing results, and others where applicable.
  • Ensure that training around critical subject matter including HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, SPCC, SWPPP, RCRA, Environmental Awareness, and client specific programs is completed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform critical employee onboarding and orientation duties.
  • Perform external auditing as needed (disposal partner and client services) and internal auditing (field projects, truck terminals, wastewater treatment facilities).
  • Manage relationship with regulatory authorities including inspectors, law enforcement, as well as the community.
  • Collaborate with the regional compliance lead to complete incident reports and generate monthly statistics.
  • Reworld may sometimes selectively collaborate with staffing agencies and search firms (Agencies).
  • Reworld partners with businesses by offering cutting-edge engineering and innovative solutions, to help customers reduce, reuse, recycle and recover value from waste streams and meet or exceed their sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of Clean Water Act, SPCC, EPCRA, and RCRA requirements.
  • 5 years of experience as a safety and/or environmental professional responsible for compliance in the area of CWA, CAA, and/or RCRA standards.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of solid waste permitting requirements and related reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to use critical thinking skills and rigorous logic and methods to solve challenging issues with effective solutions related to regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to walk, stand and sit
  • May be required to qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Develops workable strategies to mitigate/eliminate compliance risks and provides recommendations to Director and/or business partners as required.

Compensation

  • $99,000.00 - $141,500.00 USD per annum
  • Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages.
  • The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location.
  • The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
  • Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
