About the role

The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Parks &Trails Maintenance Specialist to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team!
This position will start on May 1st and may be asked to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as needed.
With construction continuing the final phases of the Snowmass Base Village - the largest ski resort development underway in North America - we look forward to what the next 50 years will bring.

Maintain all paved and natural surface trails, drainage, washouts, vandalism, bridge repair, sign and fence repair, renovation, preventive maintenance, application of pesticides, sweeping, asphalt repair, snow removal equipment operation, and assisting with new trail construction.
This also includes inspections and documentation involving decisions on the renovation, repair or design of Town trails, gardens and parks, parking lots drainage ways and bridges.
Operate, maintain and cares for assigned tools, radios, tractors, trucks, motorized equipment, and other materials as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of skilled labor experience or any combination equivalent that is inherent to parks, trails, turf, and/ or open space maintenance.
General knowledge of parks and trails maintenance practices and techniques and ability to learn landscape maintenance methods regarding planting and caring for plants, trees, shrubs and lawns.
Valid driver's license.

We are looking for a Parks & Trails Maintenance Specialist that will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks that are associated with the accepted maintenance practices for all trails, parking lots, bridges, parks and gardens, drainage ways and fences.
