About the role

  • By combining global corporate cards and banking with intuitive spend management, bill pay, and travel software, Brex enables founders and finance teams to accelerate operations, gain real-time visibility, and control spend effortlessly.

Responsibilities

  • The broader Travel group covers a lot of ground, and one of your first and most important tasks is to help shape this team's mandate within that bigger picture - what it owns, where its boundaries sit, and where it should focus to have the most impact.
  • You'll set the technical and product direction for the team, ship a competitive customer-facing product, and build the culture from day one.
  • Because the domain is new and the roadmap is yours to shape, product judgment matters as much as technical judgment here - you'll be making real calls about what to build and why, not just executing a handed-down plan.
  • Help define and continually sharpen the team's mandate within the broader Travel group - what it owns, where its boundaries sit, and where it should focus.
  • Set the team's technical and product direction, making thoughtful tradeoffs about what to build, in what order, and why.
  • Partner cross-functionally across Travel, Expenses, and Product to align on scope and delivery.
  • Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team builds and operates.
  • Working at Brex allows you to push your limits, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
  • We're committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream.
  • We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career.

Requirements

  • Strong product sense - the ability to make and defend product and UX tradeoffs, not just technical ones.
  • Experience standing up a new team or product area from scratch.

Skills

  • Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets.
  • Tens of thousands of the world's best companies run on Brex, including DoorDash, Coinbase, Robinhood, Zoom, Plaid, Reddit, and SeatGeek.
  • Engineering at Brex
  • Our teams span Software, Data, Security, and IT, and operate with high autonomy and deep collaboration.

Compensation

  • The expected salary range for this role is $240,000 CAD - $300,000 CAD.
  • However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.
  • Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
  • As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
