About the role

  • PLNU is seeking a relational and organized Alumni Engagement Coordinator to help foster meaningful connections between alumni and the university community.
  • Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate's experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

Responsibilities

  • Support alumni volunteer engagement efforts, including reunion committees, ambassadors, mentors, and speakers
  • Coordinate and support alumni recognition initiatives, including the Alumni Brick program and Alumni Cottage engagement efforts
  • Help manage RSVP processes, event logistics, communications, and attendee engagement for alumni programming
  • Coordinate engagement activities and support programming for the Student Alumni Ambassador (SAA) program
  • Collaborate with Advancement and Marketing teams to support alumni communications, newsletters, and promotional content
  • Build relationships with student leaders to strengthen connections between current students and the alumni community
  • Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to support alumni engagement and advancement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of University Advancement programs and events

Requirements

  • Experience coordinating events, volunteer initiatives, or engagement programs
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams
  • Comfort engaging with alumni and representing PLNU at university and alumni events
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Business, Public Relations, or similar) required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak publicly

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred

Skills

  • Ability to occasionally travel as well as work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with Community Life Covenant.
  • Work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time
  • Use of computer equipment, including keyboard, mouse, and monitor
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone
  • Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Windows, Word, Excel, Google Suite

Compensation

  • Pay range $22.64 - $24.45
  • Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate's experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.
