About the role
- ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Shall provide and utilize instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials and techniques that best meet the needs of individual students.
- Shall provide the leadership and direction of classroom assistants working with students.
- Shall be responsible for the maintenance, disciplinary and instructional activities in the classroom and other school settings.
Responsibilities
- Shall develop Behavioral Intervention Plans based on Functional Behavioral Assessments.
Requirements
- Michigan teaching certificate with K-12 endorsement required.
- Knowledge and/or experience with emotionally impaired children.
- Ability to work successfully with students, parents, staff, community and advocacy groups.
- Ability to work well with others as a team member in a work team environment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Must have good references.
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Shall attend required workshops and in-services.
- Shall have a strong understanding of positive behavioral supports.
