About the role

  • The staff photographer is a vital member of the Marketing and Communications team.
  • The ideal candidate is creative, curious, friendly and flexible and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with a variety of university stakeholders, including students, alumni, faculty/staff and donors.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the lead photographer, responsible for capturing dynamic, brand-aligned imagery for marketing campaigns, publications, website, social media, events and university news.
  • Sourcing imagery and providing photo galleries as requested by campus partners.
  • Fulfilling additional responsibilities to support institutional priorities as assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to capture, edit and deliver high-quality digital photography and video.

Nice to have

  • Serving as the primary event photographer for campus events, including orientation, commencement, homecoming, etc., ensuring availability during evenings and weekends as assigned.
  • Supporting the director of creative services and brand management in maintaining the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, ensuring assets are accurately culled, labeled, categorized and archived.
  • Collaborating with the video producer on specific marketing video projects, including shooting B-roll, providing on-set assistance and editing short promotional videos.
  • Supporting the university's content strategy by providing timely photos and video content for key campaigns and initiatives.
  • Providing high-quality editing, color correction, retouching and photo/video optimization.
  • Maintaining consistent visual standards and adhering to Florida Tech's brand guidelines across all assets.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro).
  • A strong portfolio that showcases a mix of editorial, lifestyle, studio and event work.
