About the role

  • Are you ready to be part of a strong Smelter team as the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor?
  • This role is responsible for supervising, advising and coordinating the work of the mechanics assigned to work under their direction.
  • Warrick Smelter is looking for a professional to provide safe and efficient execution of assigned work as scheduled, supervise crew time, provide problem analysis for equipment history and appropriate response to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety pre-job reviews as well as observations of work completed on shift.
  • Maintain close liaison with production, support groups, maintenance planners, engineers and other supervisors

Requirements

  • You have the power to shape things to make them better.
  • This may be first or second shift and weekend work will be required.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in heavy industry (aluminum, steel, mining, paper/pulp, etc.) and performing maintenance/troubleshooting on rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes and standards.
  • Ability to work on other shifts and/or come in early or stay late as needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
