About the role

  • BIM Operator
  • BIM/CAD operator will be responsible for creation and implementation of Building Information Models (BIM) for various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and/or manage BIM models for electrical raceway and telecommunication installation
  • Run interference detection to detect design clashes to assist project team with coordination process
  • Create, collect and process various 2D drawings of released areas for field construction
  • Manage 3D models for design coordination and submission for approval by Construction Management firm
  • Manage and use BIM modeling software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks)
  • Manage and use coordination, scheduling, programming, file sharing and collaboration platforms.
  • Develop length and quantity take-offs for material ordering

Requirements

  • Adjust BIM models as directed by Construction Management firm and track changes to coordinate with Project Manager for change order pricing if required
  • Update model as required by bulletins released by Construction Management firm

Nice to have

  • BIM experience required
  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards, and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Software experience with NavisWorks, AutoCAD 2018, Revit 2015 (highly preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience with electrical design is a plus
